Nutrition & Meals TOP

Nutrition is paramount in our Wellness programs and campaigns. Designed by industry specialists in Senior Nutrition, our menus reflect the most up-to-date understanding of diet, nutrition and food preparation. Of course, socialization during meal times is also considered an important part of our Dietary Programs. Customer satisfaction is not just a catch-phrase for us. Any resident can fill out the always present "Satisfaction Card" on our tables. Additionally, our Resident Council addresses meals and mealtime in each of their monthly meetings. If we fall short, we listen and immediately make the necessary changes.

Unique Programs TOP

Arlington Commons offers several unique programs for our seniors. A good example is our Legacy Garden.

Legacy Garden

Having access to a garden can meet so many needs for both residents and their caregivers. In fact, a garden can be part of a treatment plan for people with Alzheimer's who are very restless or agitated and who like or need to walk a lot. Our Legacy Garden:

  • Provides exercise, opportunities to relieve tension, frustration and aggression.
  • Provides personal space for reflection and privacy.
  • Provides a unique social environment.
  • Provides stimulation with color, smells and sounds of wildlife.

Pet Friendly TOP

The comforting power of pets is well documented. Studies have proven that not only do the animals provide stimulation and companionship to residents, they also provide purpose. Caring for an animal gives our residents a chance to give back.

Arlington Commons encourages residents to bring their pets when the move to our community. We feel though that animals should not be just an afterthought for us. Rather, “they should be an integral part of the quality of life of our residents.” After all, most of us are pet lovers and could not imagine living in an environment without our pets.

Don't be surprised to see house dogs and cats - even bunnies that live in our community with our residents. Each pet is prescreened to determine if it is a good match for us. Do they have the ability to maneuver around chairs and walkers? Are they comfortable around many people? Do they get along well with other animals?

Our pet-friendly atmosphere... another example of Arlington Commons' "Caring Connections."
